Monastery in Mendham

Monastery in Mendham, the beloved event that opens the Convent to the public for tours, is back this coming September. The Convent will be open to the public for tours September 28, 2024 1 PM to 5 PM in celebration of our 150th Anniversary.

As we have done many times in the past, we will be leading tour groups through the Convent and educating the public about our historically significant, 1915 French Eclectic architectural treasure. Items from CSJB’s important collection of historic vestments and ecclesiastical embroideries will be on display in the Main Chapel as well as the Church Workroom. Monastery in Mendham is part of a year-long series of events to commemorate 150 years of the founding of the Community in the United States. This event is co-sponsored by Mendham Township Historic Preservation Committee, as part of the Township’s 275th Anniversary.

The last tour begins at 4 PM. Event closes at 5 PM. Admission is $30 and includes one free appraisal of an antique per ticket holder.
($25 for Seniors and students. $35 at the door by cash or check). Antiques to be appraised must be small enough for one person to carry. Appraisals of additional items will be $10. Please note that the tour involves quite a lot of stairs and is not wheelchair accessible.
